Engineers’ Association organises ‘CEPA for Whose Benefit?’ seminar

The Sri Lankan Engineers’ Association (SLEA) has organised a public seminar titled ‘CEPA for Whose Benefit?’ on Thursday, September 17, to create awareness on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with India.
When Sri Lanka is at a transition period, politically, as well as economically, debates and discussions have commenced on where and how the country could focus to gain economic progression along with a talk of a CEPA.
The SLEA is of the view that a healthy and transparent dialogue should take place among the professional groups, concerned parties and legislators to ensure impartial implementation of a CEPA to safeguard the country’s national interests.
The seminar is a result of the SLEA membership, representing professional engineers from the public, government, semi‐government and private sectors, believing that as an influential professional group of the country, they should play a more active role at this crucial hour in the preparation of the country’s development plans and facilitating the transparent implementation process of the same.
The seminar will be held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, No: 100, Independence Square, Colombo 7, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
