Sri Lanka’s apex export facilitator Export Development Board (EDB) has clinched Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards 2015, in recognition for the valuable contribution made by it being the most sought after employer.
‘I am pleased to say that we won this award having competed with 33 countries,” said EDB Chairman Bandula Egodage,  addressing EDB staff at the special meeting to announce the achievement.
Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards are hosted by the Employer Branding Institute, World HRD Congress & Stars of the Industry Group and endorsed by Asian Confederation of Businesses. The EDB was presented the award at the 6th Asia Best Employer Brand Awards 2015 ceremony held in Singapore on August 12th.
“The Airport & Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka was the only other Lankan state institution picked for this award apart from EDB. Apart from EDB’s contribution to the national economy, the judges informed us that they have also perused EDB’s talent/human resource retaining ratio and strategies, EDB’s international exposure and e-marketing initiatives. Their observation was that there’s a tremendous improvement in these aspects with SLEDB,” Egodage added.
