The staff of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) Sri Lanka recently undertook a project to provide love and care for the children at the Mallika Home on Visakha Road.

They were informed that most of the children at the home do not have their parents to look after them.

The home was quite close to the CMA head office and this induced the staff to undertake this project to contribute to the happiness of the children.

As the national professional management accounting body in Sri Lanka, the staff of CMA Sri Lanka made arrangements to provide a treat for the children. As a part of its corporate social responsibility, CMA Sri Lanka organised a breakfast and other treats for the children who are under the shelter of Mallika Home, which is rendering an enormous service in taking care of the elderly and orphaned children for almost a century. At present, the Mallika Home provides shelter for 25 orphaned children from all over the country.

The entire staff of CMA Sri Lanka took part in this worthy activity. In addition to the breakfast, books were also gifted to the home for the use of its little inmates. After the treats, the CMA team, spoke to the children, sang and played with the children providing entertainment to them.

CMA made enquiries from the management of the home, as to the other needs of the children.  Acting on the response of the management, CMA took measures to provide the required number of mosquito nets as well.
