Chethiya appointed as Aitken Spence Hotel Management JMD

Chethiya Perera has been appointed as the Joint Managing Director (JMD) of Aitken Spence Hotel Management Private Limited.

His appointment comes in the wake of the retirement of Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings PLC and Browns Beach PLC Director Malin Hapugoda.

Perera is also a Director of Aitken Spence Hotel Management (South India) (Pvt.) Ltd, Aitken Spence group’s hotel management company in India.

Aitken Spence last year bought a five-star hotel property in Chennai for US $ 25 million. With the purchase, the company has discontinued all its management contracts with a couple of properties in India. 

Perera will be looking after the Sri Lankan and Indian resort operations of Aitken Spence while Susith Jayawickrama as the other Joint Managing Director will be looking after the group’s Maldivian and Oman operations.

Perera is a fellow of the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association and is a member of HCIMA, UK and the Institute of Management, UK.
He has extensive overseas training and has considerable industry experience, particularly in the Maldives, Sri Lanka and India.
