Blue Mountain acquires high-tech Bankhill Sports & Wellness complex

Leading real estate giant, the Blue Mountain Group recently acquired the Bankhill Sports Complex and Wellness Centre, which will now be rebranded as the Blue Mountain Wellness and Sports Complex. 

The complex is located in a serene and picturesque setting, on Ratnayake Mawatha, Battaramulla, in the bustling new metropolis of Pelawatte. 

The acquisition is part of a long-term diversification strategy, as the company plans to expand its services into the area of physical wellness and healthcare.
Recognizing that health is not merely the absence of a disease, but rather the physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being of an individual, the Blue Mountain Group remains committed to helping people add years to their lives by embracing physical fitness and preventive medicine. 

Following the acquisition, the complex will be operated by a new management team with significant experience. The Blue Mountain Wellness and Sports Complex will implement various tailor-made packages for customers and also plans to recruit more specialists to enhance the centre’s offering. 

The centre was originally built to serve Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities, as well as foreign delegates and diplomats visiting Sri Lanka. Located in close proximity to the Parliament and Water’s Edge Hotel. The complex is South Asia’s best Luxury VIP gym with a luxurious and state-of-the-art facility enhanced with an in-house entertainment system and the latest technology, which enables members to monitor their progress using special software. Membership for the complex will be limited and is subject to approval from a Board of high-end professionals. 

The Blue Mountain Wellness and Sports Complex is a multi-storeyed building featuring two studios which have a world class gymnasium equipped with Technogym equipment, the largest personal training area in the country as well as access to in-house physiotherapists, dieticians and doctors. The centre also has a group training studio for zumba, yoga and aerobics sessions that can accommodate over 100 people, and a sun and steam room, as well as a health food and juice bar, plunge pool and Jacuzzi.
