Asliya and Akura capture overall winner awards

The regional print awards organized by the Sri Lanka Association of Printers (SLAP) was held at the BMICH, with printers competing island wide excluding those from the Colombo district.
A record number of 2438 entries representing all districts other than Colombo displaying an exceptional array of printing excellence went on show.  Several printers forwarded the work done by them during the period 1st January 2013 to 31st December 2014, in 15 different print categories competing for supremacy as a printer.
The Sri Lanka Association of Printers conducting this most exciting competition for the second occasion, provided an opportunity to printers to compete in the Large Scale Division and Small Scale Division to encourage printers of varying spheres to compete for supremacy.
Asliya Printers from Kurunegala, performed with distinction winning prizes in different categories of items and eventually captured the Best Printer Award as the Overall Winner in the Large Scale Printer Category.
Akura Printers Publishers & Traders established in Gampaha, overcame much competition to be the Overall Winner in the Small Scale Printer Category.
The grand event with over 600 participants attending the awards ceremony were entertained with an amazing opening  ceremony and exceptional  organization supported by the Platinum Sponsorship of Colorcroma (PVT) Ltd, JDC Printing Technologies (Pvt) Ltd., Metropolitan Office (Pvt) Ltd., Hayleys Consumer Product (Pvt) Ltd., Otley Traders & Papercom Traders (Pvt) Ltd., and Papyrus Papers (Pvt) Ltd., as a Gold Sponsor.
The significance of the standard and quality of printing was endorsed by the International panel of judges comprising M/S Ian Ramsden, Thillai Ganapathy and Englebert Stranegger, professionals in the printing industry.
President of the Sri Lanka Association of Printers Johnny Fernando acknowledged the participation of printers who displayed their skill and capability to create a platform for healthy competition and performance enhancement to reach the larger segment of the International market, towards achieving the Vision of Sri Lanka becoming the print hub of South  East Asia.
V. Kumaran the Project Chairman of the Regional Print Awards 2015, addressing the gathering in Sinhala, Tamil and English thanked all the printers who participated in the competition from Ampara, Jaffna, Vavuniya, Kurunegala, Kandy, Badulla, Kegalle, Gampaha,Ratnapura, Matara, Kalutara, among several other cities.
