Tourism minister attends world conference on tourism

Minister of Tourism Development and Lands John Amaratunga attended the first world conference on Tourism for Development at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, China.  
The conference was inaugurated by the Chinese Premier who emphasized the impact tourism has had on economic development and poverty alleviation. 


The Conference saw the participation of over 50 ministers and delegates from over 104 countries.
