SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka and a member of the prestigious oneworld alliance, joins in the celebrations of the country’s 73rd Independence Day, with the release of a video containing a trilingual narration, delivered by a group of airline’s employees belonging to all ethnicities and religions.

The video contains a message, reflecting the forward march of Sri Lanka since 1948, amidst the triumphs and challenges, whilst the visual narration showcases the scenic beauty of Sri Lanka, blending in with the airline’s service aspects symbolised by the staff members, representing operational areas.

The message is in the form of a single free verse, parts of which are narrated in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages, touching on the thematic relevance that true freedom lies in understanding and embracing the vibrancy in diversity.

SriLankan Airlines takes pride in having a workforce representing all ethnicities and religions of Sri Lanka under its wing, whose collective contribution has made it possible for the national carrier to fly the Lion flag at 35,000 feet, ever since its inception in 1979.

As an international brand that has strong Sri Lankan roots, SriLankan Airlines has been instrumental in attracting and facilitating travel of tourists from its key markets such as the Indian subcontinent, Far East, Middle East, Australia and Europe, which happen to be the key tourism-generation territories for Sri Lanka.
