Sri Lankan travellers not required to self-isolate on arrival in United Kingdom

As from today (November 21), travellers from Sri Lanka will no longer be required to self-isolate on arrival in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Sarah Hulton said, “Lifting this restriction will ease travel from Sri Lanka to parts of the UK, whilst managing the risk of further infections. This is particularly great news for prospective students wishing to benefit from the UK’s world class
university system.”

Decisions on exempted countries are informed by a number of factors, including the latest epidemiological assessments. The UK reviews the list of exempted countries on a regular basis; border measures could be reintroduced should the epidemiological
situation deteriorate.
