Sri Lanka tea sale averages for the month of April 2017 recorded Rs.648.52 (approx.US$ 4.27) compared to Rs. 429.76 (approx. US$2.98) in the same month last year, according to data compiled by Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC.
High growns for the month of April recorded Rs.629.87 compared to Rs.429.89 in 2016. Medium growns recorded Rs. 617.84 vis-à-vis Rs.399.17 in 2016. Low growns recorded Rs.663.07 vis-à-vis Rs.437.20 in 2016.
Cumulative figure for January-April stood at Rs.615.59 against Rs.412.71 in 2016. High Growns recorded Rs.621.70 as against Rs.421.29 in 2016. Medium Growns recorded Rs.574.88 vis-à-vis Rs.382.57 in 2016. Low growns recorded Rs.623.48 vis-à-vis Rs.416.78 in 2016.
The total CTC average for the month of April 2017 recorded Rs.610.30. CTC High growns recorded Rs.621.47. CTC medium growns were at Rs. 583.77 whilst CTC low growns recorded Rs.620.50.The total average for April 2017, which recorded Rs. 648.52 is the highest monthly average recorded. The previous highest recorded was Rs. 638.76 in March 2017. Medium growns which recorded Rs.617.84 is the highest ever medium grown monthly average recorded.
Low growns which recorded Rs.663.07 is the highest low grown monthly average recorded.
These elevation averages depict a significant gain in US$ terms, compared to the corresponding period in 2016. January to April cumulative elevation averages when compared to years 2016, 2015 and 2014 show an increase in rupee as well as in
US dollar term.
