Sri Lanka sells Rs.90bn in 5-year and 10-year bonds

The Public Debt Department (PDB) of the Central Bank yesterday sold Rs.90 billion worth of five-year and 10-year bonds, the press notice issued by the Central Bank indicated.


The PDB sold Rs.50 billion worth of four-year nine- month bonds, after offering the same amount, at weighted average yield of 10.50 percent. The bonds, maturing on March 15, 2023, received bids worth Rs.111.5 billion.


The PDB also sold Rs.40 billion worth of nine-year nine-month bonds, after offering the same amount, at weighted average yield of 10.72 percent. The bonds, maturing on March 15, 2028, received bids worth of Rs.106.9 billion.


The auction has to be settled on June 1, 2018.
