Softlogic Restaurants (Private) Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Softlogic Holdings PLC has acquired the franchise rights for the import and sale of Baskin-Robbins ice cream in Sri Lanka for an undisclosed amount.
The company yesterday said it entered into an asset sale and purchase agreement with Blue Ginger Private Limited of Union Place, Colombo 02, to acquire the exclusive master franchise rights to import, distribute and retail Baskin-Robbins ice cream and its allied products in Sri Lanka.
Softlogic Restaurants is currently the master franchise holder for Burger King brand in Sri Lanka and commenced its operations in December 2013.
Basikin-Robbins is the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shop restaurants.
“Softlogic believes the acquisition of the said master franchise rights will create significant synergies within our retail and QSR (quick service restaurant) sector,” Softlogic said in a stock exchange filing.
