‘Sahasak Nimavum’ exhibition opens

‘Sahasak Nimavum’, the national exhibition for inventions and innovations and competition– 2018 organized by Sri Lanka Inventors Commission opened yesterday at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC).


Three hundred and thirty five inventions have been identified for this year exhibition, and the opportunity of winning up to the “Dasis” awards, the grand award for inventions under 14 technical fields has been provided.


According to the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission, the objectives of  ‘Sahasak Nimavum’ include the creation of a background for Sri Lankan inventors to display their inventiveness and skills and to accord them due recognition, provide opportunity to commercialize the inventions, promote an innovative culture and motivate inventors in schools and universities and tertiary educational institutions.


Inventors who won from provincial level invention competitions conducted island wide by the Commission have qualified to present their inventions at 
‘Sahasak Nimavum’.

The competitions will be held under School, University and Tertiary Educational Institute, Open and Commercialized categories.


The exhibition will be open to the public today and tomorrow from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
