SLT Chairman Kumarasinghe Sirisena resigns

Sri Lanka Telecom PLC Chairman P.G. Kumarasinghe Sirisena has resigned from the post with effect from January 06.


He was appointed to the post on January 23, 2015 just after the presidential election.


Before SLT, Sirisena served as the Managing Director of State Development and Construction Corporation and CEO/General Manager of State Timber Corporation. He holds a BSc Honours (Special) Degree in Management, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Human Resource Management, Diploma in Business Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy, Financial Management, and Project Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and other institutions. 

In addition, he is also a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Institute of Certified Professional Managers, Institute of Government Accounts and Finance, Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka, and the Association of Public Finance Accountants of Sri Lanka – the public sector wing of CA Sri Lanka.


 He is a certified member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors, member of the Institute of Personnel Management of Sri Lanka, and an Associate member of the Association of FIR Professionals of Sri Lanka.


 

 

Nimal Perera tipped to be new Chairman 

Former Urban Development Authority (UDA) Chairman Nimal Perera is tipped to be appointed the new Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC.


Perera functioned as UDA Chairman between 2012 and 2015.


In 2018, during the 52-day government, Perera was appointed Chairman of Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) and as Chairman of State Engineering Corporation.
