As the premier professional body of economists, the Sri Lanka Economic Association (SLEA) recently announced Dr. Gamani Corea Annual Junior Research Awards for Young Economists 2022, a competition to promote a research culture and raise the excellence in economic research in Sri Lanka.
The Annual Awards would encourage and nurture young economists to engage in high-quality research, who will stand ready to provide leadership in future economic research and policy advice and take over the responsibilities of key positions in Sri Lanka and overseas.
Awards:
i. Gold Prize - A certificate and a cash prize of Rs.500,000
ii. Silver Prize - A certificate and a cash prize of Rs.300,000
iii. Bronze Prize - A certificate and a cash prize of Rs.200,000
iv. Merit Awards - Five consolation prizes: certificate and a cash prize of Rs.100,000 each
Eligibility criteria:
Applicants must have completed at least a master’s degree in economics by the deadline of submission.
Applicants should be below 40 years of age by the paper submission deadline.
Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens.
