Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to include Swiss Challenge Procedure guidelines to the government procurement guidelines prepared by the country’s Finance Ministry.

The proposal to this end was made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the National Policies and Economic Affairs Minister.

Many countries follow the Swiss Challenge Procedure on unsolicited proposals considering their positive aspects.

Under the Swiss Challenge Procedure, an unsolicited proposal made by a company to the government is made public and other competitors are given a chance to match it.
