SL to enter double tax avoidance pact with Czech Republic

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal to enter into a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAAs) with the Government of Czech Republic.


The agreement is aimed at preventing dual taxation as well as negligence of payment of taxes with regard to income tax. 


Accordingly, the proposal submitted by the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Economic and Policy Development Mahinda Rajapaksa was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.


The Cabinet Office noted that an agreement had been signed on March 15, 2019 for the prevention of dual taxation as well as negligence of payment of taxes with regard to income tax.
