Former Sampath Bank Managing Director Aravinda Perera has been appointed the Managing Director of Royal Ceramics PLC with effect from yesterday.
Aravinda Perera’s appointment comes in the wake of the sudden resignation of Nimal Perera from Royal Ceramics as well as from all other Dhammika Perera-controlled entities.
Aravinda Perera currently serves as Chairman of Siyapatha Finance, the finance company arm of Sampath Bank and as a Hayleys group board director.
He also serves on the boards of Fentons Ltd. and Hayleys Industrial Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd., both Hayleys PLC subsidiaries.
Aravinda Perera is a member of the Institute of Engineers (Sri Lanka) (MIESL) and a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.). He is also a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) (FCMA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers – Sri Lanka (FIB). He holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
In honour of his contribution to the banking industry in Sri Lanka, Perera was presented with the CEO Leadership Achievement Award 2016 by the Asian Banker.
He was also the recipient of the Platinum Honours – 2014 Award conferred by the Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni (PIMA) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
