Entrepreneur Linda Speldewinde has been appointed to the board of Serendib Hotels PLC, the hospitality arm of the Hemas group, as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from January 1, 2017.
Speldewinde is the Founder/Managing Director of AOD (Pvt.) Ltd, an international design campus.
Speldewinde holds an MBA from PIM, a PG Dip from CIM and is an alumnus of the YCE programme for Creative Entrepreneurship from BC, UK.
She has followed many programmes in design thinking, sustainable fashion practice and travelled internationally participating in many international fashion and design events throughout the last 15 years.
She has received many awards including the Women Leadership Award – Women Leadership Congress, Mumbai (2014) and Professional Career Women Award – Professional Association of Women in Management, Sri Lanka (2013) and International Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award for Sri Lanka – British Council (2009), Special commendation by the International Jury for changing society through education.
Speldewinde is Founder/Director of Sri Lanka Design Festival, Design for Sustainable Development Foundation, Sri Lanka Fashion Market and Mercedes Benz Fashion.
