1 August 2016 12:00 am

The third in a series of seminars powered by JLanka Technologies to create awareness of the Western Region Development Plan will be focusing on small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs).
The seminar is scheduled to be held on August 4, 2016, 5:30 p.m. onwards at Hotel Taj Samudra, Colombo.

The Western Region Megapolis Plan is an extensive project that ensures sustainable development of Sri Lanka’s commercial hub and the extended western region. This series of seminars was launched to engage various sectors driving the economic development of the country, giving them a better understanding of the Megapolis project and its various aspects. The third seminar is titled ‘Accelerating Energy Efficiency
in SMEs’.

Most importantly, the SME holders and SME sector-related agencies will have the unique opportunity to register officially under the Megapolis project during the seminar, giving them the crucial edge of winning project opportunities as and when they arise.

The seminar itself will cover future plans for the SME sector through the Megapolis development, possible areas that the SMEs can contribute in all ongoing projects of the Megapolis, means of land allocation for SMEs from each development zone dedicated to the sector, especially in the localities of Mirigama and Horana. All those attending will have the chance to voice opinions and share concerns, making this the perfect platform for the SME sector to grow on and contribute as a collective to the economy.

Megapolis and Western Development Ministry Team Leader and Project Director Lakshman Jayasekera, also former Director General of the National Physical Planning and Development/Urban Development Authority and President of the Institute of Town Planners, will speak at the event. The SME community will gain an opportunity to network with their peers soon after the seminar.

“SMEs are the biggest driving force of innovation and competition in our country’s economy and we are proud to be the smart technology partner for this seminar,” commented JLanka Technologies Marketing Manager Srinath Dolage.

“We are also excited to introduce our newly launched SME Energy Package, empowering SMEs with cutting-edge technology and energy solutions. As pioneers in
Sri Lanka’s solar energy industry, this is our commitment to accelerating energy efficiency in SMEs with highly implementable, practical and customizable energy plans.”
