Emirates President Sir Tim Clark to address THASL AGM

23 October 2019 12:10 am

Sir Tim Clark, who led Emirates Airlines since 1985, will speak at the 54th Anniversary AGM dinner of The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL), taking place at Cinnamon Grand this evening.

In 2003, Sir Clark became the President of Emirates Airlines where he developed the airline to a company with a fleet of 268 aircraft, the largest A380 and Boeing 777 fleet in operation, flying to over 158 airports in 85 countries from its hub in Dubai.

He expanded the Emirates Group by developing DNATA, the largest combined air service company providing ground handling, catering and travel services for over 300 airlines in 35 countries.

In 2014, Clark was named as a Knight of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) for the services to British prosperity and to the aviation industry.

A great fan of Sri Lanka, Sir Tim Clark has seen how Sri Lanka’s tourism has gone through many ups and downs over the past four decades.

“We are very happy that he has accepted our invitation and the industry is looking forward to his address at the AGM dinner scheduled for this evening,” a THASL spokesperson said.
