The 11th Industrial Excellence Awards 2017 will be held on 9th February at the Ramada Colombo.
The Chief Guest will be Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka Chamber of Small and Medium Industries holds its annual flagship event ‘Industrial excellence Awards’ each year which fetes SME’s - micro, small and medium enterprises for their achievements and contribution to Sri Lanka’s economic prosperity.
This awards programme is open to all micro, small and medium industrialists in Sri Lanka and has achieved national significance over the last 11 years in view of its professionalism and high standards.
The awards exemplify how businesses can contribute to the sustainable development of the country. It encourages all micro, small and medium entrepreneurs across the country to make use of the opportunity to demonstrate their business success.”
Successful industrialists are selected and recognized through an evaluation process carried out by an independent panel of judges headed by a Professor of a leading university in Sri Lanka, and comprising of professional representatives from The Board of Investments of Sri Lanka(BOI), Ministry of Industry and Commerce, National Enterprise Development Authority(NEDA), Industrial Development Board(IDB) and the Bank.
The SLCSMI receives an overwhelming response from entrepreneurs across the country every year. Applications are made available at the Chamber Office, branches of banks, IDB branch offices and could also be downloaded from the Chamber website.
Awards and cash prizes will be presented to micro, small and medium sector participants under the categories of Platinum, Gold and Silver at National level. Special bronze awards are also given away to the Best Start up Business, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Best Innovative Product, Superior Quality and Woman Entrepreneur of the Year. Bronze Awards given at provincial level.
The awards ceremony is held in Colombo under the patronage of the electronic and print media and leading banks and corporate.
