Commercial Bank PLC, Sri Lanka’s largest private sector bank, yesterday in a statement said the bank’s website was subjected to a hacking attack.
Mirror Business yesterday reported on the same, quoting a spokesperson of the bank.
Commercial Bank in its yesterday’s statement said immediate corrective measures were taken to thwart the attack.
“Our systems are fully secure and operational. The hacking attack was also immediately communicated to the relevant authorities. We confirm that no sensitive customer data or valuable passwords were lost due to this intrusion,” the statement noted.
The bank also affirmed that it was taking every measure to protect the privacy of its customers and had engaged external parties to review all their systems to ensure that no vulnerabilities exist.
