Chinese delegation here to explore investment opportunities

A group of top investors from China’s Jilin Province were in Sri Lanka recently to explore investment opportunities in 
the country. 


Top officials of the Jilin Provincial Chamber of Commerce and the Jilin Foreign Investment Cooperation Association were among them. 


The delegation met the Investment Promotion State Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.


Jilin Foreign Investment Partnership Association and Jilin Chamber of Commerce consist of leading public and private companies in China. 


The purpose of their visit to Sri Lanka was to explore investment opportunities in sectors such as power and energy, petroleum, construction and transport and 
industrial products.

Speaking at the meeting, Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce Deputy Director General Liu Nai Jung emphasized the value of working together in the face of global economic challenges while maintaining close bilateral relations between China and Sri Lanka.


State Minister Rambukwella said the present government is interested in foreign direct investments and his ministry is committed to enhance investor convenience. 


Secretary to the Investment Promotion Ministry Suntharam Arumainayagam, Board of Investment (BOI) Director General Champika Malalgoda and BOI Executive Director Prasanjith Wijayatilake were also present.
