The Central Bank (CB) has submitted five complete forensic audit reports on the past bond transactions along with annexures and exhibits to Parliament following the Speaker’s request, a top CB official said.

CB Senior Deputy Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe noted that the annexures and exhibits were held back due to Attorney General’s (AG) instructions.

While refusing to comment on the findings of the forensic audit reports, CB officials said they would take appropriate measures to address regulatory lapses in market operations pointed out in the reports.

Meanwhile, CB Deputy Governor H. A. Karunaratne revealed that CB plans to award the contract to conduct the sixth forensic audit ordered by courts by end February.

The final forensic audit will focus on investigations into selected entities.
