SLTDA and Rupavahini launch travel programme to boost domestic tourism

In order to promote and develop the domestic tourism of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority which is under the Ministry of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs together with Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation is going to start an amazing and attractive TV travel programme soon. 


The programme “Adaraneeya Sri Lanka” will go with the theme of “Lets See, feel and protect” which will bring information on various lesser known tourist attractions in 25 districts in the country. 


Furthermore, this programme will explore the nature, culture and the typical life styles and traditions of Sri Lankans in each district of the country. Adaraneeya Sri Lanka will also cover and educate the audience about the native foods and clothing patterns of Sri Lankan people. 

The latest digital technology will be used to film Adarneeya Sri Lanka in order to give utmost viewing pleasure for the audience. The viewers can watch the beauty of their motherland through high angle view with the visuals which are to be filmed through the Drone-Cam. Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority also intends to promote and enhance the Sri Lankan tourism culture through awareness video clips. 


The most exciting facts of this programme are that its special segments which enable people to make interaction with the programme: the photography completion and the weekly question based on the programme content. The lucky winners who send the correct answer for the question will be offered a chance to spend a night in a star graded hotel on full board basis. Further the amateur and professional photographers can take part  in the photographic competition by sending their outstanding pictures which reflect the Sri Lankan travel related and  life style activities of the Sri Lankan people.  The photographic  exhibition: “Adaraneeya Sri Lanka” will be held in the mid of 2017 after the end of the programme series. Winners of the photographic  competition will be awarded with valuable gifts.  The rules and regulations of the Adaraneeya Sri Lanka photograhic completion will be announced through the social media and the Adaraneeya Sri Lanka website.

Apart from the Adaraneeya Sri Lanka Sinhala version, there is an English version which is scheduled to be on air through the Channel Eye.
