The groundbreaking ceremony of the newest entrant to the Colombo hospitality scene, the US-based Carlson Rezidor group’s ‘Park Inn Colombo’, took place yesterday morning. Media reports said Carlson Rezidor has signed a management agreement with Sofia Hospitality Ltd, a company owned by Sri Lanka’s Gnanam family, who will build Park Inn Colombo with an investment of Rs.2.5 billion. The proposed hotel in Colpetty is expected to be ready in a couple of years.
