Zarook appointed BoC Chairman

Former diplomat and lawyer Razik Zarook has been appointed Chairman of Bank of Ceylon, a statement by the state owned bank said.

He was the Chairman of the Co-operative Wholesale Establishment (CWE) under late Trade and Shipping Minister Lalith Athulathmudali.

The late President Ranasignhe Premadasa appointed him as Ambassador to the then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and thereafter as the first Ambassador to Hungary.

Subsequently he was appointed as High Commissioner to Singapore. Apart from his professional education at the Sri Lanka Law College, Zarook is also an Alumni of the Indian Institute of Management Ahamedabad.
