Woman arrested over a foreign job scam

The airport police arrested a woman on charges of having cheated a number of youths living in all parts of the country by obtaining millions of rupees on the promise of finding them employment in the Middle East and Cyprus, police said today.

Police spokesman Ajith Rohana said the woman was living in Cyprus and was arrested when she arrived in Sri Lanka.

He said the arrest was made after the police received more than ten complaints from youths who had been played out by the woman. She will be produced in courts. (Supun Dias)
