Video: Wimal’s passport released, hearing fixed for May

Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa’s passport was granted conditional release by the Negombo Magistrate today. No travel restriction was imposed by the Magistrate on the MP and the hearing was fixed for May 3, next year.

He was arrested by the CID on Friday at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) over an issue regarding his passport and was produced in the Negombo Magistrate’s Court.

The Magistrate earlier released MP Weerawansa on a Rs. 10,000 cash bail and two sureties of one million rupees each. (Manopriya Gunasekera)
