Video: We never said we’ll support the Govt: BBS

The Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) organisation today said that it had never said anything about supporting the government at the upcoming presidential election but that it would defeat the conspiracy against the country. 

 

When asked by a journalist outside the Fort Magistrate’s Court, General Secretary Ven. Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera denied that the BBS had extended its support to the government’s presidential candidate.

 

“We never said we are supporting the government. There is a conspiracy against the country. We will act against it to safeguard the country. We will carry out a campaign to make people aware of this dangerous situation. It is up to the people to decide whom to vote,” he said.

 

The Thera said his organization was a national movement and would safeguard the country and the religion. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
