Woman arrested for fraud

A woman wanted by the police for nine incidents involving theft and other criminal activities in Seeduwa was arrested during a raid by a special team deployed by the Seeduwa police this morning, according to Police media spokesman SP Preshantha Jayakody. The police had also recovered jewelry and money amounting to Rs.400,000 during the raid and the suspect is due to be produced before the Negombo magistrate.
 

The suspect is a resident of Kotugoda and had been on the run after residents in the area had lodged several complaints at the police station. The Seeduwa police are carrying out investigations to recover more items that have been robbed by the suspect based on information gathered from questioning. (SD)
