Visit to SL not essential-UN

The visit of the Expert Panel to Sri Lanka was not essential, but such a visit would be useful, the United Nations said yesterday.

In response to an email question sent by the Inner City Press, the UN said, “discussions are ongoing. The panel wants to engage with Sri Lankan actors relevant to the question of accountability. A visit would be useful but is not essential for the panel to provide advice to the Secretary-General.”
