Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang will come to Sri Lanka for first time on October 15, the Vietnam Embassy in Colombo said today. A spokesman from the Vietnam Embassy in Colombo said he will come to Sri Lanka on a two day official visit with a 120 members business delegation.

The Vietnamese President would meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne, External Affairs Minister G. L. Peris and several Government members, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, he is going to deliver a speech at the Business Conference organised by the Federation of Commerce, the spokesman added.

Mr. Ton Sinh Thanh was recently appointed as the Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka by the Government of Vietnam.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka–Vietnam Parliament Friendship Association was also formed recently.
