Ven. Theripehe Siridhamma Thera sacked

The patron of the “Siyane Jalaya Surakeeme Jana Neguma,” Ven. Theripehe Siridhamma Thera, had been asked to resign that position, Convener of the organization Pramitha Hettiarachchi said on Wednesday at a media conference held at the “Sanasa” Hall in Gampaha.

The media conference was called to discuss the agreement signed by the Ven. Thera to reopen the recently closed Rathupaswala Gloves Factory. Sampath Samarakoon who had also been a signatory to this agreement along with the thera had also been invited to participate in this meeting. He said that he had signed the agreement due a request made to him by Gampaha SP Wijitha Comasaru.

Meanwhile, addressing a media conference in Gampola, Ven. Theripehe Siridhamma Thera announced today that the “Siyane Jalaya Surakeeme Jana Neguma” organization was abolished. The thera maintained that the Rathupaswala incident was already solved but that the people of the area turned it into a chaotic situation.
