US express condolences to landslide victims

The United States in a Twitter message today sent its condolences to the victims of the landslide that occurred in Haldummulla, Koslanda.

 

“Our condolences and prayers go out to the victims in the #SriLanka #landslide,” the tweet said.

 

 

The United State Embassy in Colombo tweeted this afternoon, extending its sympathies to the victims. "Our deep sympathies to all affected by #KoslandaLandslide; commend SL Govt, Armed Forces for rapid response. U.S. stands ready to help" the message read.

 

 


The Embassy again, issued a statement conveying its condolences.

 

“The United States extends its deepest condolences to the Government of Sri Lanka and the families affected by the recent landslides in Koslanda.  We stand ready to assist the Government and victims as they mourn the loss of loved ones, treat the injured, and address the extensive losses and damage caused by this natural disaster.  We commend the Government of Sri Lanka and its Armed Forces for their rapid response and valiant search and rescue efforts,” the statement said.
