​US envoy holds talks with SL on accountability

US Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Tom Malinowski, who travelled Sri Lanka recently held talks with the government officials as well as the human rights and other representatives on many issues including strengthening democracy, transparency, and accountability.

Issuing a statement the US State Department said on Monday that during the envoy visit to Sri Lanka, he met with senior government representatives to discuss human rights and strengthening democracy, transparency, and accountability. He also met with representatives from human rights, religious, and civil society organizations.
