UPFA-UNP clash in Haputale: Five UNP supporters injured

At least five UNP supporters were injured during a clash between supporters of the UNP and UPFA during a political meeting in Haputale in support of presidential candidate, Maithripala Sirisena, this afternoon.


UNP supporters claimed that a group of UPFA supporters had removed cutouts and disconnected the loudspeakers and later started to attack the UNP supporters. 


UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, Opposition Leader of the Uva Provincial Council Harin Fernando and several UNP leaders were present at the meeting.
