UNP wants India’s help

The main opposition UNP today expressed hope that the visit of its leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to India would bring positive results with regard to jailed former Army commander Sarath Fonseka.

“We hope India will request the Sri Lanka government to release Fonseka, “ UNP MP and former Foreign Affairs minister Mangala Samaraweera told a news conference today.

He said the Sarath Fonseka’s issue is included in Mr. Wickremesinghe’s agenda on his current visit to India. (YP)
