UNP, UPFA supporters clash

An inquiry is underway regarding a clash between a group of UNP and UPFA supporters in Madurankuliya today which left one UPFA supporter shot dead and 9 others injured.

Police Spokesperson SSP I.M Karunaratne told Daily Mirror Online that a large number of UPFA supporters had been on their way to a rally at Anamaduwa and the incident occurred as they passed a UNP party office in the area. 

SSP Karunaratne said it was unknown which party started the fight but that supporters from both sides suffered injuries. (KA)
