UNP to challenge reforms

21 June 2010 04:30 am

The UNP today vowed to challenge the proposed constitutional reforms by the government in a court of law once they are placed before the country.

Addressing the weekly press conference, UNP Media Spokesman MP Gayantha Karunatilake said that the government had no right whatsoever to amend the Constitution by keeping the entire country in the dark.

Mr. Karunatilake noted that those who opposed the executive presidency tooth and nail had now taken a different stand. (KB)
