The United National Party (UNP) is taking steps to remove four senior members who have decided to vote with the government for the constitutional reforms next week in Parliament, UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayaka told Daily Mirror online.

Attanayaka added that the decision to remove any UNP members who voted with the government was arrived at the recent UNP Working Committee meeting.

As a result, four of the UNP’s senior members Abdul Cader, Lakshman Seneviratne, Earl Gunasekara and Manusha Nanayakkara will be removed from the party over the next few days.

Attanayaka further said that disciplinary action will be taken against the UNP MPs who will go against the party wishes. (Daily Mirror online)
