UNP suspends six PS members

United National Party (UNP) today suspended six Paradeshiya Sabha members who held a press conference criticizing the party’s convention held on December 1.

UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake told Daily Mirror that Samansiri Peris of Panduwasnuwara Pardeshiya Sabha, Janaka Tilakasiri of Pannala Pradeshiya Sabha, Tushatra Sampath Ranasinghe of Bingiriya Pradeshiya Sabha, Hemachnadra Kularatne of Udubaddawa Pradeshiya Sabha, S. Prasanna Thushara and Amila Udaya Ruwan of Biyagama Pradeshiya Sabha were suspended today.

The Party Headquarters -Sirikotha had been made out of bounds for these members.

Mr. Attanayake said they were suspended for making critical remarks of the party leaders and the convention of the party. (Yohan Perera )
