Two SL pilgrims die in India

Two Sri Lankan pilgrims died while trekking in the hills in Bihar's Gaya and Nalanda districts today, official sources said.

Sixty-one-year-old Widanapathi Rananawati collapsed and died when she was trekking in Ghumgeshwari hill in Gaya district, sources said.

Another Sri Lankan pilgrim, also died following breathlessness while trekking in the Gidhkut hill at Rajgirh in adjoining Nalanda district, the police said.
The bodies were brought to Indian Mahabodhi Society.

The district authorities have approached Sri Lankan High Commission and their relatives to take back the bodies.

They were part of a 50-member team of Sri Lankan pilgrims currently touring Buddhist pilgrim centres in India.
