Two Pakistani women arrested with heroin

Two Pakistani women who had tried to smuggle in around 3.3 kilos of heroin by swallowing it after packing the haul into 68 capsules made from condoms, were nabbed at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

The heroin worth more than Rs.10 million was nabbed by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB). The detection was made after gathering vital information about the arrival of the two suspects from Karachchi.

The two women were taken to the Negombo Hospital to take out the capsules by administering a laxative. During investigations it was revealed that the two women were asked by their master to get into to a vehicle which will come to pick them following their arrival to Sri Lanka.

Narcotics officers are carrying out investigations after obtaining detention orders by producing the two women before the Negombo Magistrate. (Supun Dias and Deepa Adikari)
