Two Lankans murdered in Italy

Two Sri Lankans have been stabbed to death in Italy by another Sri Lankan who had admitted to the crime saying it was over a personal feud, the Foreign Ministry in Sri Lanka said adding that the suspect has now been arrested.

According to Foreign Ministry sources the incident occurred at a Sri Lankan restaurant in Italy when a personal feud led to the Sri Lankan man stabbing his two fellow Sri Lankans over the weekend killing both of them.

The suspect who had subsequently admitted to the crime has now been arrested and investigations are underway, Foreign Ministry sources told Daily Mirror online adding that the Ministry was in touch with the Italian authorities over the incident.

The Foreign Ministry is in touch with the relatives of the two victims in Sri Lanka and efforts are now being taken to bring the two bodies back to Sri Lanka, Foreign Ministry sources added. (Daily Mirror online)
