Tiger promoters arrested

Two suspects, alleged to be LTTE cadres, were arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) and the police in Kalmunai and Kalawanchikudi for engaging in anti-state activities and promoting the now defunct LTTE.

Police Media Spokesman SP Preshantha Jayakody said that two mobile phones containing a video clip of the LTTE were in the possession of the suspects at the time of the arrest.

During investigations it had been reveled that the suspects were residents of Pandirippu and Eruwel in the north.

The suspects were taken into custody following vital information gathered from the area.

It has been reveled that the suspects had been engaged in anti state activities since the end of the war last year.

The STF and the Kalawanchikudi police are conducting further investigations. (Daily Mirror online)
