Two arrested at Mattala with gold worth Rs.14.5 Mn

Two 57-year old Sri Lankans were arrested at the Mattala Airport by the Customs while attempting to smuggle Rs.14. 5 million worth of gold slabs into the country this morning, Customs spokesman said.

 


The two men who had arrived from Dubai had concealed the 29 slabs of gold in their rectums. They are residents of Katugastota and Maradana. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
