The talks between the Professional Railway Trade Union Alliance (PRTUA) and the Railway Authorities had ended in without a resolution, Railways Department sources said.

Officials said however the discussions would continue tomorrow.

The train service arrangement for today is applicable for tomorrow as well, Railways Superintendent L.A.R Rathnayake said.

“Forty trains have arrived at the Colombo Fort Railway Station and could be able to provide a better service for the commuters,” Rathnayaka said.

Twenty five trains have been deployed this morning despite the trade union strike to facilitate those who were returning to Colombo after the Hajj festival.

The Trade Union said that the meeting they had with the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance ended without conclusion. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
