Vehicular traffic restrictions are to be imposed on the road between the Kollupitiya junction and Hilton Hotel via Galle Face to facilitate rehearsals for the victory day celebrations scheduled for next week.
According to the police the road between the Kollupitiya junction and Hilton Hotel via Galle Face will be closed for heavy vehicles including buses between 6am-2pm from tomorrow to May 19 for the event rehearsals.
Meanwhile restrictions will also be imposed on light vehicles between the Galle Face roundabout and Hilton hotel from tomorrow to May 19 for the event rehearsals. The main even is scheduled for 20 May.
All light vehicles can proceed upto the Galle Face roundabout and proceed along Macan Markar road to Slave Island from where they could turn left and proceed to Pettah, the police said.
